Every little bit helps

Probably you will remember the "The Crow and The Pitcher" story. In a spell of dry weather, when the Birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a pitcher with a little water in it. But the pitcher was high and had a narrow neck, and no matter how he tried, the Crow could not reach the water. The poor thing felt as if he must die of thirst. Then an idea came to him. Picking up some small pebbles, he dropped them into the pitcher one by one. With each pebble the water rose a little higher until at last it was near enough so he could drink.

We are aiming with this initiative to improve awareness regarding neuroscience and help our society to be free from all neurological disease . Our deliveries might be a small considering our target but still we believe it will help to reach our target and it is important.

The number of people afflicted with neural disease and disorders worldwide has climbed drastically over the past few decades. The Middle-East countries are considered among one of the fastest growing regions in the world in terms of the incidence of neural disease and disorders. This put a strain on these countries' healthcare systems and will impose socioeconomic burdens on families and governments in the region. There is often a lack of appropriate knowledge on the part of family members on how to deal with the patients.

We are aiming to improve awareness level substantially in Arabic society and provide following benefits: 1- improve Arabic society knowledge regarding risk factors then public can take protective measures as much as possible and change their lifestyle wherever it is possible 2- Remove myths from the society so they will approach the issues more realistically with positive attitude 3- provide information about facts, figures and encourage the society to donate/transfer more resource and fund for research activities 4- provide all information needed regarding care and treatment options so the patients and caregivers will have more clarity to give informed decision 5- establish a communication platform among stakeholder (patients, carers, practitioners, researchers) to communicate, share experiences and support each other.

2018 The International Brain Research Organization Global Advocacy Seed Grant Award has been accorded for the initiative and the web site is live now. We are aiming to contribute our aim with this blog. Please provide your feedback to improve efficiency and benefit of our blog and web site.

🌱 STEM for Young People and Kids

At ASAB Middle East, we believe that curiosity is the root of discovery and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is where it begins. We’re dedicated to helping young people  from curious kids to ambitious teens —explore the world through science and technology. By making STEM fun, accessible, and meaningful, we aim to spark a lifelong love for learning.

🔬 Why STEM Matters

STEM is more than school subjects. It’s how we solve real-world problems, from climate change and health challenges to designing the technologies of tomorrow. By encouraging early engagement with STEM, we help build the critical thinkers, inventors, and innovators of the future.

🌍 Designed with the Region in Mind

Young minds across the Middle East are full of potential but not always given equal access to resources or role models in science and tech. Our content is crafted with local context, culture, and language in mind to help bridge this gap. We provide bilingual resources (Arabic and English) and focus on inclusive, regionally relevant content that connects with young learners and educators alike.

👧 Empowering Girls in STEM

We place a special focus on empowering girls to explore STEM. Representation matters and when girls see themselves reflected in science, they start to believe they belong there. We feature female scientists, share stories from the Arab world, and create spaces where young girls can dream big and build the skills to back it up.

🚀 Let’s Build the Future Together

Whether you're a parent, teacher, student, or simply curious you're welcome here. Explore our videos, activities, and digital learning tools made for young people with big questions.STEM is for everyone and every child deserves the chance to discover their potential.
