International Epilepsy Day


As stated by World Health Organization (WHO), about 50 million people have epilepsy across the world. Every year on the second Monday of February is a day on which many institutions around the world focus their efforts on raising awareness about Epilepsy with the objective of raising awareness about the disease and highlight the problems faced by people with epilepsy, and to support those patients and their families. Also March 26th purple day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness.

Epilepsy is the most common long-lasting brain disease and affects people of all ages.It is estimated that 1 in 100 people have epilepsy and In 50% of cases the cause is unknown. Regardless of being one of the world's oldest known medical conditions, public fear and misunderstanding about epilepsy continues.
